Emily Carr and the West Coast Landscape: If you are as huge a fan of Emily Carr's work as I am, you'll love this day. We start with a short presentation about her materials, methods, ideas and techniques and then choose a reference photo ( mine or your own) to paint from. We plan the composition, learn how to enlarge from a photograph ( use a grid), plan a colour palette, paint undertones and finish with light and texture. Students are to bring their own canvas to the workshop. Suggested size is 18 X 24 “ . If you have concerns/questions about this, please email Penny.
